Elysian Race - 5e

This isn't just a port of a previous edition's race into 5e; this is a brand new race.  An Elysian is a celestial spirit put into a mortal race's body to achieve some Purpose.  This spirit lies dormant in the body until it has its Awakening, discovering its purpose in life.  Once this happens, the celestial spirit is awakened and begins to alter the mortal body and its capabilities.  Their soul occupies the body of a mortal race and takes on some features of it, while also having special abilities from their celestial heritage.

This race is designed for play in any D&D 5e setting.  Due to its backstory/flavor, it shouldn't require the DM to alter the setting in any substantial way; Elysian is a rare race and generally indistinguishable from normal races (to the untrained eye).
