Your character is related to a deity. You could be a descendant of Odin, Apollo could bless your family with musical ability, your mother may have been a victim of Set, or Silvanus watched over you in the forest. Regardless, you have a special personal connection to a sponsor (deity) beyond what a Cleric of that deity would possess. This connection grants you specific abilities and powers (boons) that can direct your spell casting in different ways.
