Encounters in the Deep

These encounters were written to bring elements of different genres into your game. They were written with the idea that the party would be traveling in a huge subterranean cave structure like the Underdark, but they may of course be re-purposed however is most useful or fun to you! In that case, simply ignore all the parts where they talk about your party going through a large system of caves, and replace those with sections about the lush jungle, frozen north, or giant toilet (or whatever) that your party happens to currently be in. Many of the ideas in these encounters are inspired by or in homage to some of my favorite horror, science fiction, and manga, because they were fun ideas to me. My hope is that they add a bit of that flair without overpowering everything else in the adventure.
